Would I…

Do you want to play a game?

Would I…have made the choices in life I made and be content with those choices? How about you? Are you content with the choices you made in your life?

I am going to suggest several “Would I…” prompts that you might be able to apply to your choices. It will be fun and short, no more than 10 questions. They all will be interesting! I will let you know my choices and I would love to hear from you in the comments!

Would I…fly a kite or throw a frisbee?

Would I…fly in an airplane or sail on a boat?

Would I…marry my current spouse (if you have one) or chosen someone else? If not married, who would you want to marry?

Would I…prefer ice cream or cookies?

Would I…travel in a RV or fly to a destination?

Would I…rent or own a house?

Would I…skip or jump?

Would I…go to college or start a job after high school? (This is assuming you have graduated high school)

Would I…prefer the mountains or a beach?

Would I…start over in life again and make different choices or would I be content with the choices I have made?

So that is 10 and I am keeping my promise! Here are my answers:

  1. Fly a kite or throw a frisbee? This is hard as I like both. Flying a kite is fun, but you need some wind. On the other hand you do not need wind for a frisbee, you can throw it anytime. But the wind could move it off course. So I think throwing a frisbee would be my choice! I had good memories of throwing frisbees when I was a kid playing outside with my dad.

  2. Fly in an airplane or sail on a boat? This is even more hard as I probably would not like either one! I cannot fly now cause I have inner ear problems, but I can get dizzy sailing on a boat. Not ready to say neither as I have been on a commercial touristy type of boat and did not get dizzy, so sailing on a boat will be for me.

  3. Marry my spouse or choose another one? Definitely marry my spouse!!! No such thing as a perfect spouse, but he is perfect for me!

  4. Prefer ice cream or cookies? Cookies!!! I do not eat ice cream any more, although maybe someday. There are many flavorful cookies. Sometimes too many to choose from. Has to be gluten free and tasty!!

  5. Travel in a RV or fly to a destination? I still would travel in a RV. I know it will take LONGER, but with flying you miss hidden gems on the road, like a unique eatery, an antique shop, or a place of beauty you can stretch you legs and take photos of as you walk around.

  6. Rent or own a house? Definitely OWN a house! I miss the house we sold and houses today are so EXPENSIVE! But there is a downfall to owning - if you still owe on a mortgage, you have debt. When you rent, you just owe the landlord the monthly payments, but no long term debt. Might move often and have to qualify for a rental. Still, I rather OWN a house!

  7. Skip or jump? How about I liked both as a kid! I LOVED skipping anywhere and everywhere, I could get my legs up really high! Jumping was fine too, like when you jump on a trampoline, or jump off the monkey bars, which I did many times. Like both!

  8. Go to college or start a job after high school graduation? I started working after graduation, cause I could not afford college. I have done some college in my lifetime but no degree. Part of me regrets not going to college when I was young. But if I did, I may not have met my future husband. So I am glad what I did choose.

  9. Mountains or the beach? Mountains baby!!! I LOVE mountains especially the Rockies. Ever since we traveled to Wyoming and Montana it has been a love affair with mountains. The beach is fun but I sometimes get bored at the beach. With mountains I can take oodles of photos and do a hike if there is a hiking trail. Mountains are breathtaking and simply God’s creation.

  10. Start over in life again and make different choices or would I be content with the choices I have made? This is not an easy question to answer. Of course I have regrets. We ALL do, right? There have been times I wished I made a different decision on something and sometimes I have had consequences of choices I made. But looking back at my life I feel that God has been there the whole time, allowing me to make the choices I made for my life, choices that I think were right for me. Sometimes mistakes, inevitably, but we all learn from those mistakes and make better choices another time. I feel like God gives us more than one chance. Do you? In the end I am content with the choices I have made (maybe a few minor ones I am not content), and grateful for where I am today with those choices!
